Union Water Supply System (UWSS), Manager, Rodney Bouchard, was recently interviewed by Rob Hornberger of the Kingsville Observer regarding the greenhouse growth within the UWSS service area and how this growth is pushing some aspects of the water system to its limit. The article also covers many of the improvements that have been made at the water treatment plant to improve efficiency and the water flows.
Mr. Bouchard discusses the greenhouse development and suggests that discussions need to continue to take place with the municipal partners to ensure that the WTP can continue to provide safe drinking water.
The article also speaks to Justine Taylor of the OGVG regarding greenhouse and residential development that has been rapidly taking place throughout the municipalities over the last several years.
Finally, Chair of the UWSS Joint Board of Management and Mayor of Leamington, Hilda MacDonald adds insight to the situation noting that there needs to be more discussions with varying levels of government.
