NOTICE of Study Completion – Additional Capacity at UWSS

Last year the Union Water Supply System (UWSS) commenced a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Study to provide additional capacity for the water treatment system. This process was carried out through Schedule C. Throughout the year several events took place including two (2) Pubic Consultation Centres (PCC) wherein the recommended alternative solutions were reviewed by stakeholders and residents. Through this process the UWSS decided to proceed with the recommended alternative solution for additional treatment capacity at the Ruthven Water Treatment Plant (WTP) of a conventional dual-media gravity filtration system housed in a new, separate building within the existing WTP property. Please see the attached Notice of Completion and Final Environmental Study Report. This notice will be posted for 30 days to all for any comments.
