NEWS RELEASE – Upgrades Temporarily Reduces Water Treatment Capacity

The Union Water Supply System (UWSS) has undertaken necessary upgrades to the treatment system. These repairs require that part of the system has been shut down since September 2021. While the scheduled work is moving along, the world wide supply chain issues have prolonged the project by 8-10 weeks. Please be advised that the water treatment plant will be operating at reduced capacity until this work can be completed by mid to late August. The UWSS would like to remind all water users to minimize their daytime water usage, particularly during peak hours of noon to 6 pm, as this will assist the UWSS when water demand is at its highest. To be directed to the lawn watering by-laws in place for your municipality please click here.
