Blue Green Algae Not a Problem at UWSS

The UWSS water treatment plant, in Ruthven, reponded to Monday’s concern of a toxic blue/green algae bloom near its intake. The Manager noted that the UWSS has continuous monitoring equipment as part of a three year study that monitors for any possible blue/green algae blooms in Lake Erie. The Manager noted that no major adjustments were needed to the treatment of drinking water and all operations were proceeding as normal. For the article posted in the Windsor Star please click here.
