Lake Erie Quality Deteriorating

In its most recent report the International Joint Commission indicates that there is still a great deal of work to be done in improving the condition of Lake Erie.  The main concerns still remain the possibility of algae blooms in the summer and the central dead zone, where there is not enough oxygen to sustain life.   There is agreement between the Province of Ontario and the State of Ohio that both will continue to try and reduce phosphorus by 40% by 2025.  To read the full aricle please click on this link.
